San Rafael Pacifics Defeat Santa Cruz Seaweed 14-7

July 9 2021 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Santa Cruz Seaweed 14-7 at Albert Park, using a five-run second inning, a six-run fourth and a three-run fifth to build a commanding lead. San Rafael finished with 13 hits and one error, while Santa Cruz collected 15 hits without committing an error.

Ben Tsui led the Pacifics with three hits, two runs and four RBI, including two doubles. Sam Wells added a home run, three runs and three RBI, while Dalys Binder went 3-for-3 with two walks, two runs, one RBI and two stolen bases. Kairee Tekra contributed two hits, two runs and two RBI, and Austin Fitzpatrick drove in two runs.

Santa Cruz received three hits from Jeremiah Farris and Cody Nisbet. Farris scored once and drove in a run, while Nisbet scored three times. Robbie Carling went 2-for-3 with a home run, one run and one RBI, and Grant Goff added one hit and two RBI.

Wells earned the complete-game victory, allowing 15 hits and seven runs, six earned, while striking out seven and walking none. Nick Fay took the loss for Santa Cruz after allowing 11 runs on seven hits in four innings, with six walks and six strikeouts. Ben Carrasco pitched three innings in relief, and Emmett Whitfield worked a scoreless ninth.
