If you love baseball and the idea of sharing your home with a professional baseball player, this is an opportunity for you!
The Santa Cruz Seaweed Professional Baseball Team is currently searching for Host Families for our 2024 season.
Our players travel from all over the United States to spend a summer here with the Santa Cruz Seaweed.
They are Northern Stars, Southern Stars, rising stars, falling stars, shooting stars and athletes with stars in their eyes.
A vital part of a successful season is to have host families provide housing for the players, giving them support and a family atmosphere for the summer.
We work extremely hard, and take pride in providing our players with a safe, comfortable family environment.
These young men will have a positive influence in our community and in your home.
Many past Host Families have developed friendships with the players they have welcomed into their homes and have enjoyed watching their player progress in their careers. This is a great opportunity to receive an inside look at the trials and tribulations of a professional baseball player.
The baseball season begins in May and ends early to mid August (depending on how far into the play-offs the team gets).
In addition to the rewards of forming a life-long relationship with your player, the Seaweed would like to thank you with a very special Host Family Appreciation Package especially for our supporters of this program.
As a Host Family, here is what we ask of you:
- Provide a player with their own room for the season.
- Provide access to a washer and dryer if possible.
- Provide access to a bathroom
- Provide access to a kitchen
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment.
- Cheer for him at the games whenever possible.
You can expect your player to be a conscientious young man who will be a positive role model in your home and the community.
He is expected to follow the rules in your house, contribute to your family's routines, and share his gratitude for you generosity.
It is not unusual for a player to become a mentor to your young ball player sharing skills and building a friendship that could last a lifetime.
Were looking forward to hearing from you and creating some memories!
